Q & A on Productivity & Personal Growth

So far, I have been writing about things that I have been investigating and experimenting with, based on my own interests and curiosity. Ultimately, I want to help people with their struggles, challenges, and growth. I want to start with helping you. I want to know what topics you are interested in, what questions you have, or what things you are struggling with.

For that reason, I have opened up a form for you to submit your questions (anonymously). I will publish the questions on this page, along with my answer, within 24 hours. If you have a certain question, undoubtedly others will have the same question, and this way we can help each other and others!

Questions and Answers

Do you have any tips for increasing my attention span? I have difficulties focusing since working from home.

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that there is no quick fix. The good news is that your attention is like a muscle and you can train it. The Pomodoro technique is a good way to start, and I strongly recommend to tone it down to 10 minutes rather than start off with 25 minutes. Once you notice you can easily focus for those 10 minutes, try expanding to 15 minutes and see how that goes. Please bear in mind that training your attention muscle is not a linear process. You can have days where it's super easy to focus for 30 minutes on end, and on other days you barely hold on for 15 minutes. When I feel resistance to work on something for 25 minutes, I negotiate with myself: "How do you feel about 20 minutes then? Still too long? How about 15 minutes? OK, let's do 15." There's no shame in going back or going slow. What matters is that you actually get started.
